Caroá — Technology Applied to Farming
We were born in the São Francisco Valley to bring technology closer to the reality of those who farm. We connect knowledge, data and technological solutions to face the challenges of the field and build a more efficient agriculture.
São Francisco Valley • Petrolina and Juazeiro

Our origin
The name Caroá carries the identity of a semi-arid plant and stands for resilience, adaptation and the ability to move forward in the face of challenges. That inspiration links our origin to the strength of those who live and produce in the region.
Caroá was created to select, integrate and develop technologies that make sense in the producer's daily routine. We combine technical knowledge, closeness to the field and a forward-looking view to build solutions that are useful and suited to the local reality.
Applying technology to improve decisions, increase efficiency and contribute to a smarter use of resources in the field.

Starting from real needs.
Understanding each producer's context.
Assessing and validating solutions in the field.
Our territory
In the lower-middle São Francisco Valley, the Petrolina–Juazeiro hub is one of Brazil's main centres of irrigated fruit farming. The combination of irrigation, technical knowledge and agricultural production has made the region prominent in national supply and in fruit exports, especially mango and grapes.
The availability of water for irrigation, combined with climate conditions and specialised management, makes it possible to organise production cycles at different times of the year. This capacity depends on planning and on attention to the conditions of each crop and farm.
Mango and grapes connect regional production to foreign markets. This makes quality, steady supply and well-organised production important factors for the hub's competitiveness.
Soil variability and the need to use water efficiently increase the importance of tracking growing conditions. Monitoring, data organisation and equipment integration are relevant fronts for the technological development of regional agriculture.
It is in this context that Caroá was born: close to those who farm and focused on building technological solutions for the reality of the Valley.
Focus areas
Our work is being structured to bring monitoring, software and new technologies closer to agricultural operations.

Our initial focus is integrating sensors and software, starting with soil moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity.

A next stage, subject to field validation and to assessing the needs of each farm.

Equipment selection considers suitability to local crops, maintenance and viability for the producer.

Partnerships
We seek to build relationships with producers, manufacturers, suppliers and institutions that share an interest in technology applied to agriculture. Our goal is to bring solutions, technical knowledge and regional needs closer together.
